Dignity for All Students

  • On July 1, 2012, New York State's Dignity for All Students Act went into effect.

The purpose of the Dignity Act is to create a safe and supportive school climate where students can learn and focus, rather than fear being discriminated against and/or verbally and/or physically harassed.

The Bolivar-Richburg Central School District recognizes that learning environments that are safe and supportive can increase student attendance and improve academic achievement. A student's ability to learn and achieve high academic standards, and a school's ability to educate students, is compromised by incidents of discrimination or harassment, including but not limited to bullying, taunting and intimidation. If you wish to report an incident or a series of incidents of harassment, please  complete The DASA form.

Each building and department has a designated Dignity Act Coordinator. This person has been trained to handle human relations in the areas of race, color, weight, national origin, ethnic group, religion, religious practice, disability, sexual orientation, gender (identity or expression) and sex.
