  •  2019-2020 Interscholastic Sports Timeline

     

    August 1, 2019

    BRCS Interscholastic Athletic Handbook available for pickup from Athletic Office – Bolivar building.

     

    August 7, 2019

    Mandatory meeting for the following student-athletes and one parent/guardian:  seventh and eighth graders, new students in grades 9-12, and any first time participants in grades 9-12.  The meeting will be held at 6:30 pm in the Bolivar building (see pg 3).  

     

    August 16, 2019

    Last day for submitting Parental Consent Form (pg 16 of Athletic Handbook) and Fall Permission Slip/Interval Health History Review Form (pg 18 of handbook) to the Athletic Office in order to be eligible for participation on August 19, 2019 for JV and Varsity sports.   Forms submitted after the 16th will result in delayed eligibility.

     

    August 19, 2019

    Fall starting date for junior varsity and varsity. 

     

    August 23, 2019

    Last day for submitting Parental Consent Form (pg 16 of Athletic Handbook) and Fall Permission Slip/Interval Health History Review Form (pg 18 of handbook) to the Athletic Office in order to be eligible for participation on August 26th, 2019 for Modified sports.   Forms submitted after the 23rdh will result in delayed eligibility.

     

    August 26, 2019

    Fall starting date for modified sports.

     

    October 14, 2019 through November 8, 2019

    Signup period for winter sports season.   Students must submit Winter Permission Slip/Interval Health History Review Form to the Health Office by November 8th in order to be eligible for participation on November 11th, 2019.   Forms submitted after the 8th will result in delayed eligibility.  Students must also have a Parental Consent Form on file in the Athletic Office.  Winter forms can be picked up at the Athletic Office October 1st.

     

    November 11, 2019

    Winter starting date for junior varsity, varsity, and modified sports.

     

    February 10, 2020 through March 6, 2020

    Signup period for spring sports season.   Students must submit Spring Permission Slip/Interval Health History Review Form to the Health Office by March 6th in order to be eligible for participation on March 9thth, 2020.   Forms submitted after the 6st will result in delayed eligibility.  Students must also have a Parental Consent Form on file in the Athletic Office.  Spring forms can be picked up at the Athletic Office February 1st.

     

    March 9, 2020

    Spring starting date for all junior varsity, varsity, and modified sports.

     

    May 4, 2020 through May 8, 2020

    Signup period for 2020-2021 sports physicals.  Each student in grades 6-11 is given the opportunity to receive an annual NYS mandated sports physical through the school doctor.  Those signing up will receive notification of the date, time, and place of their scheduled physical through Physical Education Class.  These physicals are scheduled in late May or early June.  Students that do not receive a physical through this process are required to schedule and pay for their own physical.  A copy of this physical must be forwarded to the school Health Office and be approved by the Health Office before participation can begin.
